Where this started.
In the Adirondacks, a yellow disc nailed to a tree tells you you're allowed to stay the night. Camp here, it says. That's where our love of the outdoors started. We've slept under a lot of them.
Verplanck Publishing is an independent publisher in Cortland, New York, started in 2026. We make things for people who'd rather be outside. The name comes from the Adirondacks; what we make doesn't stop at the Blue Line.

Nothing ships until it's been outside with us, in the weather, for real.
Public record, credited
Much of what anyone knows about public land comes from public agencies and public-domain reports. We name them. We don't pretend their work is ours.
Answer the mail
Corrections, questions, permissions: one address, read by a person, answered within a few days.
The Blue Line
The boundary of the Adirondack Park was drawn in blue ink on the state map of 1892, and it has been called the Blue Line ever since. You're either inside it or you aren't. The line under our masthead is that one.
